The exhibit will be on display at Wilson MacDonald Memorial School Museum (3514 Rainham Road, Selkirk) from April 7 to May 29, featuring a variety of re-purposed wooden chairs with original designs that showcase the students' unique imagination and abilities.

More about the event & organization:

Healthy Start, Healthy Future is holding the fourth national fundraiser walkathon - Flora’s Walk for Perinatal Mental Health. The term perinatal refers to anyone in the pregnancy or postpartum period and several mental health concerns can arise during that time (i.e. Postpartum depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, etc.). The walk is in honour of a Canadian Mom from Toronto named Flora who tragically lost her life to postpartum psychosis on January 14th, 2022. Moms, babies, family & friends are all invited to join for a stroller walk to discuss, promote, and support perinatal mental health.

Read more about Flora and the organization at: https://cpmhc.ca/floras-story-2/

Last year was our first time hosting the event in Haldimand County and we were blown away by the level of support we received from local business owners, government officials, social workers, therapists, nurses from NGH, the Health Unit, MCFN Early Years Centre, community members and Moms all over. Because of this, we raised over $6,500 last year and 75% stayed in Haldimand to offer a free postpartum support group at the Caledonia Library, which was a huge success.

This year, the money raised by Team Haldimand will go to:

    • ●  70% of the funds raised go back into supporting access to perinatal services in our community! This year, we are proud to partner with Rogue Healing Psychotherapy, which will facilitate postpartum mental health programming to benefit residents in Haldimand County.

    • ●  10% will be donated in trust to Flora’s daughter

    • ●  20% of the funds raised will go towards administrative costs of Flora’s Walk
