The City of Hamilton invites residents to family friendly “Touch-a-Truck” event
HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton is celebrating National Public Works Week with a free “Touch-a-Truck” event on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Pier 8.
The popular annual event lets residents of all ages get up close and personal with their favourite vehicles from the City’s Public Works fleet, including snowplows, Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) busses, street sweepers, and litter vacuums.
The event also features fun activities and giveaways for kids, such as a traffic light demonstration, animal encounters, paint a snowplow blade activity, face painting, a live DJ, and much more. The event is made possible thanks to support from City of Hamilton community partners, such as the Hamilton Public Library, Hamilton Bike Share, and the United Way.
National Public Works Week (May 18 to 24) is a celebration of the City’s dedicated Public Works staff who bring “People, Purpose and Presence” to their job every day, bringing services in Hamilton to life – from public transit, road construction, drinking water and stormwater, clean parks, and so much more.
