'Us & Them' Film Viewing - Simcoe
United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk invites you to a screening of “Us & Them,” a documentary film chronicling the ten-year journey of four homeless individuals and their struggles with addiction. The film will be screened at The Strand Theatre in Simcoe, on Saturday, October 14 at 4:00pm. Following the film, filmmaker Krista Loughton will do a Q&A with the audience.
The 2016 film is directed by Krista Loughton and Jennifer Abbot (The Corporation). The story follows Krista’s ten-year journey exploring the world of four homeless individuals she wanted to help. In the end, it was Krista who was changed.
“As part of our 2017 campaign, we wanted to help raise awareness around the issue of homelessness,” UWHN Executive director Brittany Burley said. “This film looks at the issue of homelessness through a compassionate lens. We’re hoping that everyone who sees this will leave with a new view of the homeless and of themselves.”
“Us & Them” has been touring the country to help raise awareness around homelessness. The film will be screened at The Strand Theatre (55 Robinson St.) at 4:00pm. The cost of admission is free, though a donation to United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk is recommended.
